PwC signs OpenAI contract and becomes first reseller of ChatGPT Enterprise

Companies not must buy a ChatGPT Enterprise license directly from OpenAI. They can now purchase the Gen-AI service through multinational consulting firm PwC. Until today, firms could only subscribe to the Enterprise option by contacting an OpenAI vendor. Now there may be one other way, but one which also allows PwC to sell its services to those that need to use ChatGPT to optimize their workloads.

This is an element of a partnership PwC signed with OpenAI this week. It is an element of its long-term AI investment to expand its technology ecosystem, integrate recent generation AI deeper into its platform and help firms achieve results faster using AI.

Organizations join for ChatGPT Enterprise for various reasons. They are either genuinely interested in the technology or have an idea they need to implement using AI. But there are also likely those that need to use ChatGPT but don’t know how one can start. PwC is more likely to goal these clients. The company can sit down with business leaders to map out their plan of attack, brainstorm ideas for the appliance or service they need to construct, create a development plan, and find ways to make sure AI is used effectively.

Count PwC among the many organizations using ChatGPT Enterprise. The company says its teams within the US and UK will likely be subscribers to the plan, claiming that this makes it the most important user of the product. Globally, PwC employs greater than 267,000 people, and it's possible that the vast majority of those are based within the US and UK, which represents a big variety of users from a single company. PwC says it already uses custom GPTs to review tax returns, generate bid responses, assist with software development, monitor dashboards, create reports, and more.

“We have entered the 'proof phase' where we’re actively demonstrating the capabilities and advantages of Generation AI,” PwC writes in a press release. “We take a holistic approach and leverage our deep industry experience to assist our clients transform using AI by connecting sources of value to common AI patterns for greater impact. This approach enables our clients to realize faster results with greater productivity, consistency and efficiency.”

Launched in August 2023, ChatGPT Enterprise is tailored for big enterprise customers and is an element of a growing list of enterprise AI models and tools, comparable to Cohere’s LLM options, Anthropics Scale AI Partnership, The OpenAI service from Microsoft AzureAmazon Bedrock and more. Unlike its consumer counterpart, ChatGPT Enterprise offers “enterprise-grade security,” unlimited access to GPT-4, enhanced context windows, advanced data evaluation features, and customization options.

PwC shouldn’t be the one consulting firm working on AI. Rival Accenture announced a partnership with Cohere in March to bring its language models and search capabilities to firms.
