Generative AI isn’t nearly technology; it’s about business transformation

We at the moment are at a vital stage in our development of generative AI for enterprises. As consumer generative AI has captured the imagination of thousands and thousands, leaders are developing methodologies that may deliver an efficient and responsible enterprise generative AI strategy.

In 25 years of working on the planet of knowledge, AI and analytics, I've seen how technology can transform corporations, industries and even the best way we live our lives. I've had the chance to work with a few of the most modern teams within the industry: 4 startups, a number of scale-ups and hyperscalers (Microsoft, Oracle and Google), in addition to customers and partners of all sizes. I’m excited to have joined IBM to drive the corporate's data, AI and analytics strategy and execution.

I recently joined Sanjeev Mohan And Ritika Gunnar In a podcast episode, I share why I selected IBM and the way I consider the corporate is uniquely positioned to guide the subsequent wave of transformation through generative AI.

IBM's vision for generative AI is different. It's about greater than just developing state-of-the-art tools. It's about ensuring the technology is trustworthy, scalable and usable to unravel real business challenges.

IBM has a long-standing repute for providing mission-critical solutions in highly regulated industries similar to financial services and healthcare. This extensive experience in constructing trustworthy, secure systems is strictly what corporations need when adopting genetic AI. We're not here to construct AI for AI's sake – we're here to assist corporations transform with AI and do it in a way that’s reliable, ethical and scalable.

So what’s our strategy? At IBM, we approach generative AI with three core principles: trust, innovation and enterprise scalability.

1. Trust as a basis

Trust is central to IBM's AI philosophy. We develop systems that not only deliver results, but in addition provide explanations for a way those results are achieved. For example, consider IBM's collaboration with Credit Agricole, a serious player in banking and insurance with 53 million customers and 147,000 employees. The company is providing an IT system budget of 20 billion euros for the period 2022-2025. As a part of this effort, Credit Agricole is launching two data, AI and analytics solutions powered by IBM software to support its comprehensive IT strategy. These solutions are intended to extend the productivity of employees and customers. The concentrate on auditability is equally essential for regulators. Every AI-powered decision is auditable, promoting compliance and increasing trust in business processes.

I've also seen IBM help transform corporations like American Airlines, which due to the IBM approach (software + consulting + IBM Garage™) was in a position to speed up their development and release cycles to launch a worldwide application in the course of an enormous one hurricane, all while maintaining human oversight of critical decision points.

The terms these customers use to explain these applications will not be “cool experiments.” They are “robust” and “reliable”.

2. Innovation with successful story

IBM is one of the modern corporations on the planet. From inventing SQL to pushing the boundaries with AI systems like Watson and huge language models, IBM has been driving the longer term of technology for over a century. Our history of innovation continues today with advances in AI, hybrid cloud and open source platforms. It's not about being the most recent player; It's about being one of the best reliable, trustworthy and ethical, and IBM is the leader.

3. Enterprise scalability
