Anthropic's AI can now run and write code

Anthropic's Claude chatbot can now write and run JavaScript code.

Today, Anthropic launched a brand new analytics tool that helps Claude respond with what the corporate calls “mathematically precise and reproducible answers.” When the tool is activated – it’s currently in preview – Claude can perform calculations and analyze data from files resembling spreadsheets and PDFs and present the outcomes as interactive visualizations.

“Think of the analytics tool as an integrated code sandbox where Claude can perform complex calculations, analyze data, and iterate on different ideas before sharing a solution,” Anthropic wrote in a blog post. “Instead of just counting on abstract evaluation, it may process your data systematically – cleansing, examining and analyzing it step-by-step until the correct result’s achieved.”

Anthropic gives some examples of where this is perhaps useful. For example, a product manager could upload sales data and ask Claude for a country-by-country performance evaluation, while an engineer could give Claude monthly financial data and have him create a dashboard highlighting key trends.

Claude was in a position to check out these tasks before. However, on account of the shortage of a mechanism to mathematically confirm the outcomes, the answers weren’t at all times incredibly accurate.

Google offers an identical feature called Code Execution for its Gemini models, which allows the models to generate and execute Python code to iteratively learn from the outcomes. OpenAI's flagship models can similarly write and run code through a feature the corporate calls Advanced Data Analysis.

Anthropic's analytics tool will probably be available online to all Claude users starting Thursday. To activate it, log in to Claude.ai and Click here.
