The Geopolitics of Chips: Nvidia and the AI Boom

As artificial intelligence booms, demand for AI chips has exploded. But this chip push also presents countries and corporations with latest challenges. How will countries cope with the large amounts of energy these chips eat? Will anyone compete with Nvidia to produce the AI chips of the long run? And can China develop its own chips to advance its own AI development?

James Kynge visits a knowledge center to learn how advanced AI chips are creating latest problems for the industry. In Phoenix, Arizona, James meets Mark Bauer, co-head of JLL's Data Center Solutions group, and Frank Eichenhorst, vice chairman of knowledge center operations at PhoenixNAP.

How will the battle of the titans between NVIDIA and Big Tech end? And we hear from Amir Salek, senior managing director at Cerberus Capital and the brains behind Google's TPU chip; Tamay Besiroglu, deputy director of Epoch AI; Dylan Patel, senior analyst at consulting firm SemiAnalysis; and the FT's global technology correspondent Tim Bradshaw to search out out more in regards to the battle for AI chips.
