X gets a faster Grok model and a brand new “Grok button”

XAI, Elon Musk's AI company, could also be embroiled in an escalating legal battle with OpenAI. However, that doesn't stop the corporate from delivering latest products – on a Friday evening.

This evening, xAI announced that it has begun rolling out an updated version of its flagship chatbot model, Grok 2, to all users of X, the social network formerly often called Twitter. (X, which Musk also owns, often serves as a type of testing ground for Grok.) The improved Grok is “thrice faster,” xAI Claims in a blog post, offering “improved accuracy, instruction following, and multilingual features.”

Free users can only ask Grok ten questions every two hours. Subscribers to X's Premium and Premium+ plans receive higher usage limits.

And the startup said it’s making several changes to its enterprise API.

According to xAI, XAI's API has two latest Grok models with higher efficiency and multilingual performance. Due to the efficiency improvements, the value was reduced from $5 per million input tokens (~750,000 words) or $15 per million output tokens to $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Tokens lowered.

In the approaching weeks, xAI's image generation model, Aurora, may even be coming to the API, xAI says. Aurora, a largely unfiltered image AI, was released this month on X within the Grok chatbot experience.
