Hinge today launched a brand new AI-powered feature called Prompt Feedback that goals to enhance your dating profile by analyzing the way you reply to prompts and assessing whether it must be more specific or authentic.
Powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o mini, Prompt Feedback evaluates every response and offers personalized advice tailored to provide help to share interesting details about yourself, which may result in more engaging conversations.
However, as a substitute of telling you exactly what to jot down, the AI offers three levels of guidance: “Go a little bit deeper,” “Try a small change,” and “Good answer.” The Great Answer rating encourages you to maintain your answer as is, while the opposite levels provide more specific suggestions, equivalent to: B. “Try adding a particular genre or favorite artist to point out more personality.”
Prompt Feedback goals to deal with a typical problem amongst singles using dating apps: many profiles contain similar, cliched answers. For example, a typical response is, “The best option to ask me out is to ask me out,” which may seem boring and will not elicit many responses. According to a survey of users, 63% of daters struggle with what to jot down of their profile and sometimes resort to stereotypical answers that don't truly reflect who they’re.
The latest feature comes at a difficult time for online dating as users feel burnt out by constant swiping, conversations not progressing and frequent ghosting. Although Hinge goals to enhance the general app experience through AI tools, some users could also be skeptical as they could not feel comfortable knowing that AI played a task in connecting them with potential matches.
Parent company Match Group is investing around $20 million to $30 million in AI. The latest initiative is an AI photo selection tool for Tinder that helps users select photos which might be more likely to perform well on their profile. The company partnered with OpenAI last 12 months.
