Samsung Unpacked: Samsung's Galaxy S25 will support content credentials to discover AI-generated images

Another tidbit has just emerged following the Samsung Unpacked event on Wednesday. This comes courtesy of Adobe, which points out that the brand new Galaxy S25 range might be the primary handsets to support the Content Credentials standard, which goals to label AI-generated content as such.

The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) – of which Samsung is now officially an element – describes the usual as “nutrition labeling for digital content”. The information presented includes how the content was generated and edited and whether generative AI technologies were used.

The standard comes amid increasing concerns about AI's ability to spread fake news and other misinformation. In addition to being present in still images, it’s expanded to incorporate video, audio and documents.

Content credentials will be present in a picture using Adobe Authenticity of the content Tool currently in beta phase.

In addition to Samsung and Adobe, the C2PA includes some top names in media, social media, AI and hardware, including Google, Intel, Microsoft, OpenAI, Amazon, BBC, Meta, Sony, Publicis and Truepic.

The Galaxy S25 series is out there to pre-order now and can begin shipping on February seventh.
