Roli announced his latest educational product on the Naam audio show in Anaheim on Thursday. The simply named Roli Piano builds on products corresponding to the Roli Airwave and the Piano M and doubles the variety of buttons of the latter to 49.
In some ways, the piano resembles its predecessor, with MIDI buttons, that are illuminated and synchronized with a teaching app that’s played on a telephone or tablet. The Airwave, then again, adds the combination hand tracking and thus creates gesture-based sounds.
The latest instrument is pricey at $ 599, far more than twice the present price of the Piano M of $ 249. The Musik-Tech startup, based in London, offers the larger model for $ 399 for a limited time frame as a “Super Frühbucher Special”.
And after all it could not be a product launch in 2025 without mentioning the generative AI. This is completed by the newly announced Piano Ai Assistant, which the corporate describes as “step one towards the usage of generative AI as a way to learn more easily, intuitively and more entertaining than ever”.
The assistant, which is introduced as a part of the piano introduction, goals to deepen the teachings and at the identical time usher in music theory in the combination.
Last yr the piano line became the most important focus of Roli. For the corporate, which already registered bankruptcy in 2021, the turn to educational products is helpful. Products corresponding to Seaboard and Blocks have at all times been cool and clever, but remained a distinct segment within the music world.
Music education, then again, offers enormous market potential for a smaller hardware manufacturer.
