Last 12 months, corporations saw an explosion of platforms on which they will construct AI agents, preferably with as little code as possible. The company said that the ADK simplifies the creation of multi-agent systems on Gemini models. Google claims that users can create a KI agent in lower than 100 lines of intuitive code with ADK. The platform also supports the model context protocol (MCP), the information connection protocol developed by Anthropic, with which the information movement between agent is standardized.
Google said ADK would help organizations:
- Design how agents think, reason and cooperation with orchestration controls and guardrails think and work together
- Interact with agents “in human conversations with the unique bidirectional audio and video streaming functions of ADK”
- Jump start development with a set of original model agents and tools
- Choose one of the best model for the agent from Google's Model Garden
- Select the availability goal no matter whether it’s Kubernetes or the Vertex AI from Google
- Prepare agents directly for production via the Vertex AI
ADK is optimized for Gemini models, although the Vertex -ai enables models from Anthropian, Meta, Mistral, AI21 -Labor, Camb.ai and Qodo. According to Google, developers ADK can use the Ground Agent and the appliance responses to different data connectors.
More agent support
Google also presented Agent Engine to a managed term dashboard parallel to ADK with controls for corporate degrees.
In a briefing, Google announced that Agent Engine enables corporations to change from the concept to the training to the ultimate production. It takes care of “agent context, infrastructure management, scaling of complexities, security, evaluation and surveillance”.
Agent Engine integrates into ADK, but will be made available in other frameworks akin to Langgraph or Crewai.
With short and long -term memory support, users can keep the context for agents. You can adjust how much or little information from previous conversations or meetings can draw the agents.
With Agent Engine, corporations may also evaluate the behavior and trust of the agents during real -time use.
Companies that want more help to construct agents can access Google's recent Agent Garden. Like a model garden, Agent Garden is a library of prefabricated agents and tools with which users can model their agents.

Google has to prove that its one-stop-agent creation platform, which is optimized for Gemini models and Vertex AI, is a more sensible choice.
