Google is rolling out a series of changes to its Search and Discover pages, the corporate announced several Announcements. The updates will bring latest AI-powered features to those necessary destinations, while improving navigation and allowing users to cover ads in Google Search.
Given that ads are Google's major money cow, the latter initially looks as if a more surprising change. The feature now allows users searching Google search results to tap the brand new “Hide Sponsored Results” button to cover the ads at the highest of the search results page.
This motion will remove the ads from appearing on the screen, but won’t completely eliminate the sponsored results. Instead, Google points out that the “Sponsored Results” label stays at the highest of the screen as you scroll down. This makes the ads stand out in a way because they’ll follow you across the page even once they are minimized.
Additionally, Google says the “Sponsored Results” heading can appear each above and below AI summaries – the short, AI-authored summaries that appear at the highest of search results to supply quick answers. The “Sponsored Results” heading for text ads also appears at the underside of the page, with all text ads grouped under the label. These will be hidden using the identical “Hide Sponsored Results” button if you need to give attention to organic content.
Google says the brand new design makes it easier for users to navigate to the highest of the page and keeps the dimensions of ads the identical, so users never see greater than 4 text ads in a bunch.
