AMD Chairman and CEO Lisa Su opened her CES 2026 keynote with a message about what computers could do: AI for everybody.
As a part of this promise, AMD announced a brand new line of AI processors as the corporate believes that AI-powered personal computers are the best way of the long run.
The semiconductor giant unveiled the Ryzen AI 400 series processor, the most recent version of its AI-based PC chips, on the annual trade show CES conference on Monday. The company says the most recent version of its Ryzen processor series enables 1.3x faster multitasking than competitors and is 1.7x faster at content creation.
These latest chips feature 12 CPU cores, individual processing units inside a core processor, and 24 threads, independent instruction streams.
This is an upgrade to the Ryzen AI 300 series processor announced in 2024. AMD began producing the Ryzen processor series in 2017.
Rahul Tikoo, senior vice chairman and general manager of AMD's customer business, said at the corporate's recent press conference that AMD has expanded to over 250 AI PC platforms. This is a double growth in comparison with last 12 months, he added.
“In the approaching years, AI will likely be a multi-layered web that will likely be woven into every level of information processing at the non-public level,” said Tikoo. “Our AI PCs and devices will transform the best way we work, how we play, how we create and the way we connect with one another.”

AI is able to understanding each individual, learning context, enabling automation, deep reasoning and private customization.”
PCs equipped with either the Ryzen AI 400 series processor or the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor will likely be available in the primary quarter of 2026.
The company also announced the most recent version of its Redstone ray tracing technology, which simulates the physical behavior of sunshine, enabling higher video game graphics without performance or speed delays.
