How a digital “you” can survive your torturous web conference calls

Now you may look like on a Zoom call in your office, even in the event you're sipping a margarita in a hammock far, distant. Courtesy of a months-old startup called Picklingthe pitch is straightforward: Submit a five-minute training video of yourself creating an avatar, and 24 hours later you're supposedly good to go. Would you prefer to call out of your automotive? It will remain your secret. Too lazy to get away from bed? No problem. At a beach club? They're probably pushing it, but judging by the demo video, that's not the one trick that could be solved. (The service is currently available in Basic, Standard and Pro versions and costs between $300 and $1,150 per 12 months.)

Backed by LA enterprise firm Krew Capital, the technology currently only works with MacOS, Pickle says, but a Windows version is due out next month. According to Pickle, conferencing apps customers can pick from include Zoom, Google Meet and Teams. However, you have got to attend until you should utilize them. The website states: “Due to high demand, clone generation is currently delayed.”
