Therabody launches Coach, an AI-powered digital recovery platform

Therabodythe maker of popular massage guns and other wellness devices, announced the launch of a brand new AI-powered digital recovery platform called Coach at CES 2025.

The recent platform starts within the beta phase Therabody's app. While the app currently offers users easy-to-follow proprietary routines, Coach takes recovery and wellness a step further through the use of data to grasp users' current needs.

Developed in collaboration with Garmin, Coach combines user data with generative AI to deliver personalized recovery plans that adapt in real-time to users' goals, activity levels and health metrics. Coach collects data from Garmin smartwatches in addition to Apple Health, Google Fit, Strava and more.

The platform analyzes user data, integrates user feedback and connects with Therabody products to supply personalized reminders and proposals that support athletic performance and overall well-being. For example, if the coach notices that you’ve gotten accomplished a 5K run, he’ll suggest that you just start with leg recovery to cut back pain.

“It is essential to notice that Therabody will not be pursuing AI for the sake of AI,” John Solomon, CMO of Therabody, said in a press release. “As with all of our products, we checked out how AI could solve an issue for our consumers. And over time, being powered by Garmin’s wealthy data will allow us to actually understand how recovery impacts performance on a scale that hasn’t been possible before.”

To start, Coach connects to Therabody's Theragun. The company plans to support more of its products in the long run.
