On Thursday, Google released the newest version of Gemini Pro, its powerful LLM. The 3.1 model is currently available in preview and can be released to general public soon, the corporate said.
Google's recent model could also be probably the most powerful LLMs yet. Observers have noted that Gemini 3.1 Pro appears to be a significant step forward from its predecessor, Gemini 3, which was already considered a highly capable AI tool when it was released in November.
On Thursday, Google also released statistics from independent benchmarks – corresponding to one called “Humanity's Last Exam” – that showed the corporate performing significantly higher than its previous version.
Gemini 3.1 Pro was also praised by Brendan Foody, CEO of AI startup Mercor, whose benchmarking system APEX goals to measure how well recent AI models perform real skilled tasks. “Gemini 3.1 Pro is now at the highest of the APEX Agents rankings,” said Foody in a social media postand added that the model's impressive results show “how quickly agents improve when working with real knowledge.”
The publication takes place as The battle for AI models is increasingand technology firms proceed to release increasingly powerful LLMs designed for agential work and multi-level considering. Other big names – including OpenAI and Anthropic – have also recently released recent models.
